About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm still new to Couch Surfing so forgive me if I'm not doing this right. Long story short, I'm a grown-up who's making it a priority to travel and explore life and the world around me. I don't have an agenda and I don't do drugs and I'm pretty normal. I do like to drink socially with beer & bourbon among my favorites.
I currently have a job with an airline so I can travel easily. I'm cool entertaining myself and doing stuff solo but it's always better to experience a place through the eyes of a local. If you want to meet up or have advice on reasonable places to stay or fun things to do, I'd love to hear from you.
Did I do Ok?
****NOW, a public service announcement*****
So a big part of me hates to even have to say this but in my short time on CS I’ve already noticed that some people seem to get what is an incredible travel community opportunity mixed up with Tinder, it's a pity that some people ruin the real meaning of couch surfing - it's a cultural exchange only and gaining new friendship around the globe.
COUCH SURFING is NOT a dating website.
so I will not ever accept an invitation to stay or meet up / with anyone who thinks they can use CS in such a way.
NO CREEPS. PERIOD. *******************
Plus, I won't reply to your messages saying just "hi" and I will not reply if you have no references, nor will I accept friend requests if we haven't met.
So I use CS because I'm still traveling around solo and I'm looking to meet people, discover new cultures and learn about life in cities and towns I’’m visiting. If you’re like me, then by all means, let’s meet up.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In a one-month period in the Spring of 2018, I travelled to both the Arctic Circle in Norway, all the way South to the Southern-most point on the continent of Africa, a distance of more than 10,000 miles/16,000km. During the Spring 0f 2017, I circumnavigated the globe, traveling in an Easterly direction until I ended up back where I started from in the US. Still lots more to see & do, tho. No idea why my map only shows me visiting one country....I’m currently at 27 countries and counting!
