Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My boyfriend and I have hotsed in San Francisco where we live and surfed in the U.S., Germany and France. We also occasionally attend the weeklies in San Francisco.

Interests

More than anything, I love a stress-free day when I can spend time with my family doing whatever little things make our 4-year-old and 7-year-old happy. I love engaging with the depth and heights of life: the tragic and the sublime; and am also fascinated by systems, including languages, psychologies, people and forests. I live in a city at the moment, but take every opportunity to spend time near trees.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite movies include Tree of Life, the magical worlds of Miyazaki and the quirky characters of Wes Anderson.

I've been listening to a lot of Bjork, Aphex Twin, Sigur Ros, Flaming Lips, The Cure and the Everly Brothers lately; I'm a sucker for rhythmic music that makes me dance ((silly and serious)), and grew up as that strange child who listened mostly to classical music. Really, I love any music that reminds me of love.

Authors: Meher Baba, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Octavio Paz. Books: Woman Warrior, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Subjects: Spirituality, psychology, language. Bedtime stories: We just finished the Hobbit and started Treasure Island. :)

Sharing time and my life is learning. And perhaps some inadvertent teaching.

I ((and our singing 4-year-old!)) would love to learn a children's song in any non-English language - please teach me!
