HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by sharing my love for and knowledge about my country through offering my couch, my food and my friendship to whoever is interested in catching a glimpse of how great Quebec, Canada, is.

I also want to participate by trying to learn and understand as much as I can about other people and countries, through hosting different people, but obviously travelling as much as I can.

Si vous êtes francophones, écrivez-moi en français s'il-vous-plaît. Ça fait toujours étrange de recevoir des courriels en anglais de gens francophones, puisque le français est ma langue maternelle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never CouchSurfed yet, but I have stayed at a few different places and it has always been enjoyable experiences for me, and for my hosts also.

Intereses

All and everything. But let's try to make a list of what I like best.

- Food. I just love all the different flavors, textures. I'm even up to wild experiences, if offered! Snake, anyone? But don't worry, I don't cook too funky stuff at my place. Except if I'm asked to ;)

- Horses. Taking care of them, riding them. They are my first passion in life.

- Swing dancing. Lindy Hop is what I know best, but I absolutely love Balboa. I'm also interested in Charleston, Jive, Blues, and West Coast.

- Litterature. I think I prefer european litterature, but anything original and refined will do it.

- Sports. Almost anything, kayaking, hiking, playing badminton, kick boxing, climbing. If I don't know about it, I'd be pleased to learn.

- Nature, wilderness.

- People. Logic, isn't it ?

Música, películas y libros

I like clever and artistic work. It can be serious or absurd. Again, I tend to prefer european work, but I'd be pleased to be introduced to works from other parts of the world.

For movies, I tend to prefer drama, but I like clever suspence or comedy, and for plain entertainment, superhero or action movies.
i.e. Eastern Promises, Let the Right One In, Wolverine, Ocean's 11 to 13, anything by Tim Burton or Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez.

Favorite book : Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Some authors I'm interested in : Henning Mankel, Dostoïevski, Daniel Pennac, Agota Kristof, classic french authors (Maupassant, for example)

Music : Saying I don't really like pop, rap music nor western simplifies it.
I am very fond of jazz, swing music. Old school rock is great too ! And folk !
Among others : Aznavour, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Katatonia, Mad Caddies, Metallica, Opeth, Rammstein, The Doors, The Beatles, Wise Guys, Mumford and Sons, Bears of Legend.

I can teach cooking and French for sure. Being a biologist, I guess I can answer different questions about biology as well.

I'd love practicing Spanish and learning German. It would be awesome to learn to cook traditional food from different countries ! But in the end, I'm in for learning anything, as long as the teacher is passionate about the subject.
