ABOUT ME

I am a former student in linguistics and saami language. Nowdays I work at the Sami Parlament though in my heart I'll stay a student. Before that I have studied the sami language at the University of Uppsala and at the University of Tromsö.

I come from a small village that is called Borgafjäll, its in the north of Sweden, close to the Norwegian border.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed a couple of couches during my Eurotrip in summer 2008 and that was a great experiance. I spend more on my couch-surfing-time as a host, but hopefully I'll be surfing again soon.

What I can say is that since the idea of couchsurfing is one that I totaly support.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a couple of couches and hosted some people. Right now I'm more of a host. Haven't surfed since the summer of 2008, but enjoy hosting people.

Interests

I have a big interest in other peoples cultures and learning how different peoples way of living are around the world. My sami heritage has made me aware of that people that are living in the same area can still be so different and have completely different way of thinking. This insight boosts my curiosity about new people.

On a daily basis my main interest is cross-country skiing. It's my best way of exercising and also a good way of being in the nature. I love to be in the nature and is not really a city person.

I also like to go tour skiing and to go snowboarding.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listned to all kinds of music. From world music to hard rock to metal. My friends say my taste of music is schizofrenic :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been kidnapped by friends on my 24th birthday.

Convinced an entire hotell staff that I was Robert Plant's (lead singer of Led Zepelin) towel dryer.

Fooled a friend in military service that I grew up in a traditional sami hut and never had lived in a real house.

Totally given up the lifestyle of drinking and partying.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I belong to the Sami Peaple I can tell you a lot about us and our situation in sweden and something about the reindeer herding.

And if you are interested in languages I can teach you some swedish or maybe sami :)
