I manage a community tennis facility in Pleasanton, CA and coach tennis.

I play lots of tennis and try to stay active working out everyday. Fitness is important to me.

I'm pretty good at most sports. I can be competitive but in a friendly way. I also enjoy board games.

I like my surroundings clean, minimal, and organized.

I'm a nice guy (too much at times to a fault), but I believe everyone should be treated with respect first and foremost.

I'm cheap when it comes to day-to-day spending but splurge on activities that provide fun and memorable experiences. That's why I aim to travel (or at least just get out of the Bay Area) at least once a year for a long period of time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend and I will be backpacking through France, Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal during the Christmas holidays; and we're looking for friendly people and places who would host us. Our goal is to observe, experience, and learn about this time of the year from a local's perspective.

Interests

I love getting lost in a good story- whether it be on film, in books, or on TV.

I love checking out book stores to get a glimpse of what's popular in the culture. I also enjoy just relaxing in front of the TV catching up on shows or checking out Netflix.

I like snowboarding and would like to snowboard in Europe when I visit. I'm currently researching snowboarding in the Sierra Nevada in Granada.

When I go out and party I like to drink cocktails instead of beer. My drinks of choice are seven and seven, greyhound, patron margarita, and madras. Dancing has to be a part of the evening as well haha.

I like to dance to pop music and progressive house. I'm currently working on my footwork for edm parties.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Top 40/Pop music. I also enjoy the Beatles (post Rubber Soul); starting to listen to progressive house more and more.

Some of my favorite movies include Slumdog Millionaire, Dark Knight, Life is Beautiful, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Although not a film, I really enjoy the TV show Game of Thrones.

Some of my favorite books are Wizard's First Rule, Lamb- The Gospel According to Biff, Jesus's Childhood Pal, and The Kite Runner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm deathly afraid of heights so jumping off cliffs into water is a big deal to me. I've done it 3 times (at Oregon Crater Lake, Cancun, and Russian River in Coloma)!

Teach, Learn, Share

I was a History major in college so I love learning historical background. I feel background information explains so much about why things are the way they are in the present.

I may be able to share some little known tidbit that can enhance an experience.

We can learn shuffling and dancing to edm together!
