Music, Movies, and Books
Books - John Le Carre, Evelyn Waugh, non-fiction about linguistics
So many movies its hard to pick: 70s film (Woody Allen, All the President's Men), current 70s retro; Noir (recently Marshland); abashedly, 80s British Arthouse (Jarman, Greenaway, Sally Potter) I really like the experience of going to the cinema especially if the movie is in film.
Music also hard to decide: tops of late The Weeknd, Courtney Barnett, old reverby garage and surf or people trying to harken back to that nowadays, Electronic music, R&B
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've canoed on the St Lawrence River. Hitchhiked from Ontario to BC. Built a house from the foundation up. I used to move complete apartments all by bike as a summer job and think that was outstanding. I attempted to surf on the St Laurence River rapids here in Montreal which is a exceptional phenomena and exeptionally difficult!
Teach, Learn, Share
I like language a lot and love to exchange idioms and cultural anecdotes with people.
I like people who have lots to say and share and who are curious about the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories and a curiosity in new things and exploring their city. Respectful guesting: having hosted more than I've been a guest I'm very conscious of what a nice gesture it is to have a couch and new acquaintance welcome you and nice visitor give you a fresh perspective on your city.
