About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live LIVE!

ABOUT ME

China Forbes shared that she felt I was a "sprite from an enchanted forest'
During a serious conversation about Nuclear Power, Elizabeth May once whispered in my ear that she'd really like to call me Tinkerbell from that point on. ;)
And my best friend calls me 'petite fée' which is French for 'little faerie'
So it appears to be unanimous, I'm a pixie :)

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy & Appreciate Life! Smiling from the inside out is my favourite. I love to laugh, a lot. It's essential to love yourself and wonderful to share that peace with others. It's important to value and then share time & energy with people. It's wonderful when you can enhance the lives of others by simply being happy. I enjoy thinking of others as my extended family. Love animals, don't eat them.

"You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you."

Frederick Buechner

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've always liked sharing in whatever ways I can. And been a mi casa es tu casa type of person in the spirit of, a stranger is simply a friend you haven't been aquainted with yet. I've experienced tremendous generousity from friends and 'strangers' and enjoy paying it forward.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

the fall of '09 I opted to embark on an adventure while over in Europe which lasted for 3 months. I started off in Switzerland staying with a friend and his roommates, then did some over night treks with friends I met on a day trip, then stayed a few nights in Geneva with relatives of a friend and an 'old' kindred soul I'd met through friends in Mtl over a decade earlier. and eventually with friends of friends of friends! over the course of 6 weeks while in France, mostly in Paris.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC! Oh how I love you! in the morning and in the afternoon! I love you in the evening and underneath the moon!! I had a large record collection as a young child. From the age of 8 I LOVED receiving mixed tapes from my very cool 20 something aunt & uncle! I recorded a rendition of the Beastie Boys "Fight for your Right (to Party)" at a local fair when I was 11. Love discovering new sounds and songs daily!
Working in the film industry has jaded my love of the cinema slightly in that I can no longer stomach mediocre efforts, that said I still enjoy brilliant productions ad performances! I love films that open eyes wide shut to truths that are right in front of our faces if we'd only choose to see. I also love European films, refreshing change of style and perspective.
Books - I tend to read a few at a time, which prolongs the process of getting through them however keeps my short attention span in check! I especially like books that share tales of adventure. I also enjoy books that discuss exciting ideas or inspire the reader to think above and beyond the static.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumped off a bridge over a rushing river. EXHILARATING!

Teach, Learn, Share

Along the way while travelling I've enjoyed teaching people to make sushi, something I've been sharing/bartering with friends and people who've hosted me over the years.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, China, France, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
