Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

at this particular moment I have a roommate, but it's not a problem. also, there is an opportunity to stay at my friends' place right in the center of SPb.
as for my native town, I spend only a small part of the year there. in the nearest future you can find me there only for a couple of weeks in July.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

when I was travelling in Lao, I was hosted by a very big & friendly family in some small provincial town. we got acquainted & spent a lovely day together. before going to bed, I was asked, whether I want some tea. actually, it was a brilliant idea & when I was drinking tea in room, I realised, I have some sugar from Russian Mcdonalds. so, I decided to offer these small sugar bags to them. as you probably know, Lao was a French colony, so the Lao people have some knowledge of French, but their English is very poor. so as my French ;)I didn't remember the word "sugar" in French, & English word "sugar" was new for them, as well as it's Russian analogue "sakhar". so, I opened it, saying "mmm!", "bon!", "sep-sep". they were very surprised to see some white stuff in this bag & sampling them, they looked much allike double-dyed drugdillers :)

Interests

communicating by any means, sometimes math 'cos of my specialisation, foreign languages, foreign people, to see my acquaintances in their native places, Almaty - it's my favourite city, to obtain tranquility by sitting in some nice place with some heartful company, sites which make your mouth open & food which make your mouth water :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy classic things in all 3 cases. but it's also a great joy to explore culture of a country by emersing in some local art. so, it's a pleasure for me to listen to both Bethoven and cambodian rock, to read both Shakespeare and Mukhtar Auezov and watch Titanic and François Ozone's shortmeters as well.
