I have a wide range of interests, but I primarily identify as a musician, tinkerer, and adventurer. I'm very driven by curiosity; I want to understand and affect things around me, I want to find out what's down every path, and I want to determine what things are possible.

I've couchsurfed across Europe, and would like to be in a position to offer at least a floor.

Couchsurfed across 10 European countries, and relied a little on couch-hosts while riding a bike across the US.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to jazz, metal, electronica, bluegrass, or most anything with an instrumental focus. Cryptonomicon is my current favorite book. I don't often end up at the movies, but I'm reminded of The Pick of Destiny pretty often.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailed through phosphorescent plankton off of Año Nuevo (California) under the darkest skies I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to learn about most things, especially if the person explaining them feels passionately about the topic. I can teach basic music lessons, give advice for bike touring, rant about politics, or lecture on semiconductor physics.
