About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to explore the world via mountain, forest, sea.. meet new people and have fun!
ABOUT ME
I'm cheerful and love having a laugh with mates and meeting new people, cooking huge meals and having random adventures. Been lucky to have some great experiences on couchsurfing and reckon it can be one of the most amazing ways to travel and get to grips with new countries/cultures.
I work in humanitarian aid, which means I spend most of my time on the move. I love my work, though it is often quite challenging/stressful and have been privileged to meet and work with some of the most extraordinary people in the most extraordinary places. only prob is- doesn't make it that easy to host as I'm never in one place long enough (and normally in a shared compound!) - but once I'm more settled I will get back to hosting properly.
I love exploring and travelling- wild nature and the outdoors, adventures, off road running, photography, music, literature. I cycled around Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece this summer with my wonderful sister, which was amazing.
PHILOSOPHY
Part of a poem by Yehuda Amichai:
Remember: even the departure to terrible battles
Passes by gardens and windows
And children playing, a dog barking.
Remind the fallen fruit
Of its leaves and branches,
Remind the sharp thorns
How soft and green they were in springtime,
And do not forget,
Even a fist
Was once an open palm and fingers.
