Hi!
I am Daan, 22 years old from the Netherlands. I just finished my bachelor in Spatial Planning and studying a master in Forest and Nature Conservation at the moment (so yeah, I love nature)

Since I was very young I fell in love with the mountains. Although there are none in the Netherlands I am trying to explore them elsewhere whenever it's possible. Beside going into the mountains I like to be very active and spontaneous.
While traveling I really enjoy getting to know new cultures by for example interacting with locals, eating local food or visiting markets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to try couchsurfing and I decided to start with it during a biking tour in 2022. I really like the concept, so i hope to give back and host other travelers as well. For me the best part is to get to know different cultures and meeting new people

Books: I've never read a lot but i'm trying to get into it, so recommendations are welcome :)
Movies: depending on the mood, I can really enjoy comedy, thriller, sci-fi, horror or even romcoms haha a bit of everything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went solo by bicycle from the Netherlands, through the Alps to Rome 🚴‍♂️
Lived in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana for 3,5 months during an internship

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the Dutch language and share my stories with you! I learned to cook some West African dishes during my time in Ghana, so I can teach you that as well (if you can handle the spices haha)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always like to learn how to prepare food from different places in the world, so I would love to help with cooking. I consider myself to be a clean and respectfull person. Oh and I'm always in the mood for drinks or games
