ABOUT ME

Well, all about me...

I am 20 years old, I was happily born and raised in flat and wonderful Holland.

I have travelled for about 2 years, mostly in new Zealand. After a unexpected early return I plan to study English in Amsterdam. I have been very lucky, and found an amazing apartment in Amsterdam together with my amazing best friend, Laila.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe there are 3 things that make up my happiness.
1. the creation of something, whatever that might be. A table, a book, a garden, a deep friendship.
2. other people, mostly trough sharing food and drink and music.
3. experiencing art

I believe there is one right, and one rule.
You are free to do and become whatever you want, as long as this does not interfere with the freedoms of others.

I believe one should find something worth spending his live on, something greater in which he can be lost, and forever stay behind.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books

I love the Russians, Tolstoy and Pasternak have me in many way's. The Americans take a close second place. From Hemingway to Asimov to Vonnegut to many writers less known. The English and French share the third place, followed by all that took up a pen. I read trashy science fiction and adventure novels, and follow those up by Political classics. As long as the thing has letters I guess....

Music

I love making music, I have been singing since I was 7, when I started out at a Boys choir (yes I know).
I listen classical music, Drum and bass, jazz, electro swing or whatever catches my fancy.

Movies

I believe my knowledge of movies is limited. On my own I am afraid I stick to trashy Hollywood stuff, though friends have tried endlessly to teach me good taste. there are four movies I can alway's watch however.
