ABOUT ME

Hi everyone, I'm Davide! An italian guy who loves travelling and getting to know new cultures deeply. When it comes to travelling I prefer exploring the really local and original features of a place, without paying too much attention to places overcrowded by tourists.

I'm currently working at Airbus, in Munich. I'm in between a space engineer and a space scientist, I love space in all its aspects, and by working in the field I appreciate also the part "behind the scenes".

I'm from La Spezia, a peral of the center north Italy, but there are a few places in Italy where I could be a great guide:
La Spezia - my hometown, be sure that I can show you the best spots of the city and everything around Cinque Terre ;) Things that you'll never forget!
Genoa - I've been living there during university, I explored every corner of the city. I can provide you with an inside view of the magic of this great city!
Milan - I lived there, so I can show you many interesting and famous (locally) spots of this city, mostly about good life :D such as clubs, restaurant, shops and really particular places ;)
Rome - I lived there too! Contrarily to Milan, in Rome I can let you feel really italian for one day, having a relaxing and super interesting walk ;) as well as I can point you out some really hidden historical roman ruins, to let you taste how ancient Rome was like :o and show you some beautiful spots of the eternal city!

I'm a really active person, having several interests. Most importants are: Music, having played guitar for 15 years, Cooking, Science and Technology. I'm looking forward to share all of them both when surfing and when hosting ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted several people, both with CS and without, and surfed couches for years! I always felt comfortable with everyone, and I think (you can check the references) nobody had a bad impression of me :) I'm really open minded, so don't mind for any kind of request you may have ;)

I've lot of interests. My main ones:Music: I've been playing the guitar for 15 years. I played in several pop rock bands...jazz quartet...theatre orchestras...folk orchestras...I'm open minded towards any kind of music. I used to give guitar lessons when I was 16. Photography: I like mostly photoreportages in the "National Geographic" style! :D I'm trying to improve my abilities both studying on photography books and travelling. Cooking: as a good italian guy I love cooking...and I often cook for friends or parents. I rarely tried foreign recipes...I'd like to try. Science: Since I was young I've always been interested in physics and new technologies. I think it's really important, that's why I always spend time reading Science magazines. Astronomy: I like observing and studying the sky above us when there are no clouds...I know some constellations...stars...and I like to share knowledge when possible.

I had lunch with a local chinese family on the first day of Spring Festival, in a small village near Qu Fu.
I climbed Tai Shan, the one of chinese sacred mountains.
I enjoyed a really iranian night with iranian people, playing games with the family, in Yazd.
I smoked Ghaeliun (Shisha, Narguilé) with iranian friends at home in Tehran.
I enjoyed a night with turkish friends in Istiklal Caddesi, Istanbul, living the turkish way.
I spent several nights on indian trains, talking with people and sharing experiences.

Unluckily now I can't share any space in my house :(
This is due to my housemate. I still don't know why, but she would prefer me not to invite people. Anyway in some cases you can try, I will try to find some accomodation at some friends' house. ;)

Anyway I can share all my knowledge of the cities you can find in the description, and all my passion! :)
