About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Haven't the resources to sate our wanderlust by traveling presently, but we can gladly host some surfers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Rachel and I love hosting and meeting new people. We like to cook for and take care of our guests, and have been met with generosity of many different and wonderful sorts in return. CouchSurfing has invigorated our desire to see more of the world and we look forward to doing so soon, one couch at a time!
Interests
Rachel and I love art, theater, taking photos, traveling, movies, music and cooking. We enjoy staying in or hosting a dinner with friends just as much as we like going out to hear some live music or indulge in a good craft beer at a local pub. Dining out is one of our favorite ways to enjoy our city, with a plethora of small, locally owned restaurants to choose from. Our love of food and drink necessitates that we stay active, so we enjoy Buffalo summers to the fullest by biking, rollerblading, enjoying a game of Kan-Jam or taking a stroll through Delaware Park with our pup, Donna.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies and music are a big part of our lives! It would be impossible to list all of our favorites, but it is safe to say that Rachel and I have very similar tastes. We enjoy comedy, action, documentaries, psychological thrillers and mind-bending dramas... "Dodgeball", the "Kill Bill" series, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", "Memento", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". We are addicted to Netflix and the ease of watching the whole season of a TV show, on our terms: "The Office", (UK & US), "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Arrested Development", "Dexter", "Supernatural". I love to read anything by Richard Dawkins or Steven Pinker and love even more to engage in discussion about the subject matter therein.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was living in Seattle about 5 years ago, Rachel and I had a near-death experience on Lake Union. It was sunny, but brisk February day when we decided to give kayaking a try for the first time. Things moved along swimmingly until we found ourselves trying to splash each other in our tandem kayak. For those of you with experience, you see where this is heading... Needless to say our inattention to the balance of weight in our craft led us to plunge straight into the icy water below. Being the quasi-adroit fellow that I am, I managed to grab the oars, the kayak and the girl (in that order) and bring them to safety at the (thankfully!) nearby dock. We've not been kayaking since, but probably would as long as it's not in a winter month
