About Me

Hi there, I am just a 19 year old guy trying to find out my true purpose in life. I grew up in Oregon and have been living there my whole life. One day I decided that I would go to this retreat center in Ecuador called Gaia Sagrada and then a month or two later the opportunity arose for me to go and now here I am in South America. I found a new love for traveling as it really can teach you more than any school, since you are out exploring the world from all different perspectives. I am going home soon but will definitely will continue to travel more and while at home would love to host some fellow Couchsurfers. Also some more about me: I am vegan, I have been slowly starting my own yoga and meditation disciplines, I am a huge lover of music basically all kinds and I love hearing new stuff too, a huge movie and tv show fan but am trying to find the balance between watching some but not too many, and I am an athlete who loves to participate in most sports and am looking for crazy new outdoor fun everywhere I go. It's difficult to write "About me" but to sum it up I am a young teen trying to make a better future for our planet Earth. I am a big joker and humor is a great thing in life, also I am very open minded, tolerant of anyone's beliefs or actions (as I am trying to better myself each day), calm and easy going to whatever happens (you can't control much but the way you react to it), and very friendly and excited to get to know more friends around the world! Traveling thus far has shown me a whole new world without the need for material things and without much money needed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was told about Couchsurfing years ago but didn't know much about it and also didn't travel all that much at that point in my life. On this trip to South America I have met some amazing friends for life, and two of them who I traveled with for a while took me Couchsurfing with them for the first time on the coast in Ecuador. It was such an amazing experience that shows you the true goodness in people by them letting complete strangers into their house to stay but trusting them as honest people. I really want to participate in both hosting and being hosted to get the full experience. It is truly amazing to see people so open and willing and I hope to continue that positive thing that is Couchsurfing!

Interests

My interests include, but are not limited to: music (trying more to actually learn an instrument), films (maybe to one day make my own documentary), practically any sports although basketball and soccer are my go to, reading and writing, hanging out with good people, meeting new people, cooking and eating new (vegan) foods everywhere I go, having deep intellectual conversations about anything, researching metaphysics and practically anything that sounds interesting,
and most importantly finding new things to do in the places that I am in. I am almost always up for any sort of adventure and new things that I haven't done before also really intrigue me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I basically love all types of music and being introduced to completely different tastes although I have yet to find country that agrees with me. I am currently really into rap and hip hop but am really trying to broaden my horizons to anything new. I really enjoy jazz, soul, reggae, indie, rock, some techno, some punk, any good music to dance to, and pretty much any good quality singing or playing. Some artists and bands I like are: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Modest Mouse, Bob Marley, John Legend, Pro Era, The Underachievers, the list goes on and on. I am always open for suggestions! Movies I like include: the Harry Potter series, the Star Wars series, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Napoleon Dynamite, Mr. Nobody and I'm sure the list is endless. Although comedy movies are usually my go to. Again always open to new and old movies! I used to have to read for school and had a love hate relationship with it since I had to but some of the books were really good. I am now new to reading as an adult and have a gigantic list of books to read that keeps on growing and growing. And just like the others I am totally wanting to hear new suggestions!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to a whole other continent by myself to try and find myself.
Been on a few cruises all over, including one to Alaska and to the Bahamas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have plenty of stories to share as well as interesting facts and information about our world a vegan diet and so on. I want to learn to play any kind of instrument and also have been attempting to learn spanish but some advice and pointers would be greatly appreciated! I am still young so I am willing to learn more than I have to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am ready and willing to do anything and everything for any host. I will attempt to cook, clean up, do yard work, pretty much anything you name it! I would feel bad not doing any helping out so I try to help out as much as possible. If you need me to do something or a favor for you, just ask and I'll have it done as long as it is in a good heart.
