I provide space for others to be themselves, to learn about themselves and their interaction with the world at large.

Have not hosted for a couple of years due to a move to the outback.

Politics, civil liberties, law and journalism, putting shit on the murdochracy, laughing at stupidity, raising furry kids. Teaching others about the joeys and changing minds.

I like all kinds of music except metal. I like all kinds of books with a specific interest in ones that have long words to confuse conservatives.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Crossing the Maesai river on foot into Burma, illegally. Stubbing my toe on a 7kg ruby. Hittng 270 km/h on a public road in Thailand.

Hosts need to be open to the learning process, and be able to think on the go.

It is probably not a good idea, to start hosting, with a set of views firmly planted in your mind, before you start. I think it is better to open your mind, as well as your home, and let your hosting develop around the needs of the surfers.

Try to be as honest as you can in your introductions so that surfers can get a good picture of the person you are, and as you move forward in surfing, be open to new information that will help you achieve a level of accepting, that will separate you from the crowd.
