About Me
CURRENT MISSION
expanding the*kickplate*project to show as much fine art photography as possible in places where there's none.
travelling and eating in between.
ABOUT ME
where do we start?
I guess by saying that this profile is for me and my girlfriend, but was confused by the option of several people, so figured I'd roll with the one and then explain... So anyway, I'm from Wales and Zosia is from Warsaw (Poland) - We currently live in Wales, except that we're actually living in Tbilisi (Georgia) at the moment, and we sometimes spend a couple months at a time in Warsaw... so it's complicated.
We're both photographers and artists. I currently work with large format cameras and traditional printing techniques, while Zosia likes to create installations using large prints and working on physically manipulating images as a way of expression. We're both pretty laid back, but Z is definitely the more outgoing, social and just a joy to talk to... and pretty much hates that I wrote that, but I did so there. As far as other interests go - we both tend to read a lot, listen to music and generally like to make things.
We also founded and run the*kickplate*project, a photography project and curatorial project that aims to set up fine art photography exhibitions and galleries in areas that wouldn't usually have them. Quickly, the aim is to create spaces for new and international fine art/conceptual photographers to showcase their work in a world of galleries dominated by "known" artists and documentary photography.
We finished our first project in Abertillery in 2014, our second gallery project in Bargoed in 2016 and our third one in Pontypool in December 2018. We've organised around 40 exhibitions in the last 6 or so years, and showed somewhere around 50 photographers.
Now we are having a break before starting our new programme.
I don't want to waffle on too much, so you can check out the accompanying pages to find out more.

Music, Movies, and Books
We're both into good books, indie films and all sorts of music (some favourites are: Arcade Fire, Bright Eyes, The Horrors, Velvet Underground (and Nico too), PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, Micah P Hinson, Devendra, the Cults, Tilly and the Wall, Perfume Genius and a whole host of others that I feel guilty not mentioning*.
and Beirut
A literary shortlist for the two of us would contain The Infinite Jest, Master and Margarita and Mrs Dalloway, and anything by Zadie Smith
And the films would probably be Dr Strangelove, Stranger Than Paradise, Darjeeling Limited and Lundi Matin.
and Submarine
