About Me

Currently working in Germany and won't be able to host

AN AWESOME PLACE I'VE VISITED

I would say I've done a fair amount of traveling, but hope to do much more! Since then I've been to Spain, France, Germany, Budapest, and several places in Europe through a European Road trip with my Aunt and Cousin. I think Prague, Berlin, and Vienna would be some of my favorite places so far!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard a lot of great stories about Couch Surfing from my boyfriend who is a active couch surfer. He has hosted over 80+ and always there to show them around town.

Interests

I don’t know if this will interest anyone, but I’m trying to understand how many things interest me. So I’ve made a list, partly for fun, partly to help me understand, and, perhaps, focus in on some subjects a little better as time passes.

Animals and wildlife
Art – contemporary art and artists – I like discovering interesting Italian artists
Coffee machines – Italian espresso makers, especially the coffee bar versions
Cooking
Culture – what it is, how it differs and evolves
Current affairs – news, views, and happenings in Italy and elsewhere
Economics
English teaching – how to help people learn English, develop & consolidate their skills
Environment – maintaining and enhancing it
Films and entertainment – Science fiction is my favorite genre
Food and drink – discovering new flavors, and nutrition
History – modern history, but not only
Intelligence – how we develop it, why some people are more intelligent than others, different types of intelligence, artificial intelligence
Journalism, including press freedom, citizen journalism
Language – how we learn them, develop our skills, how to accelerate learning, grammar
Law, and legal systems (civil v common law), legal terminology
Legends – and their origin
Media and communications – differences between cultures, new techniques, especially use of www
Mobile phones – technology, functions, operating systems
Motorbikes – big, fast ones (I’ve had a few moderately fast, but not big ones)
Motor and motorbike racing – especially motorbike racing
Mountain biking, cycling, and bikes
Music – many genres, including classical, rock, blues, acid jazz and some pop
Photography, cameras, lenses, off-camera flash (I’m a novice at this) and photo editing
Politics – political systems – particularly new ones!
Psychology – what it is, and how it effects out lives, and use of the www
Real estate & architecture
Renewable energy – particularly solar energy, biomass & wave/ocean power generation systems
Science – just about everything, much of which is mixed in with this list
Space, space travel, and UFOs
Technology – web technology, computers, operating systems, applications
Television – how it is used, how it can be used
Tools – love ’em (weird, I know!) – drills, spanners, saws, screwdrivers, soldering gear
Travel – being in other places, not getting there!
Walking – in the country or mountains up hills, but not down them!
Writing – techniques, writing for the web, trying to improve my own writing skills, and how to teach others to write

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a huge music fan. Huge. I have music piped at home most of the time, thanks to Pandora and Spotify. And my boyfriend, who is cooler than me and has a better pulse on the newness of things. I frequently raid his playlist for music. He likes The Weeknd, Party Next Door, Ellie Gouldin, EMD etc...

Movies and TV

Oh goodness… So very, very behind in this category. Mady and I are been trying to catch movie dates on Showbox but the connection has been slow! What a bummer. See? Living overseas can really toss you out of the loop. There were lots of movies I wanted to see this year, I think we we will do a lot of that when i'm in the US…. I hope we go a few times when i'm over there!

Books

Now you’re talking my language. I do love having access to my local library and Amazon prime is also good for that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joining Instagram and meeting my current boyfriend when I wasn't looking for a relationship
