About Me
Hello! I'm Daisy. I'll try to keep this as short and sweet as I possibly can. I'm 18, I live in Singapore, and I'm British born and bred. While I only have an English accent, I promise there's some Scottish and Irish mixed in there too. I'm an aspiring actor, and have been since I was 5. I can count on one hand "who I wanted to be" when I was little and if you like, I can tell you what they were but theatre was a constant in my childhood, and I'm so blessed that I'm able to study and work in it. I moved to Singapore with my family when I was 6. I went to international school for a year, and since have always been in local schools. My family isn't "expat" at all, we're very much local and love being so. I don't live alone, hence why I'm not open to visitors (unless my mum decides it's okay to have strangers in the house now and again)(and if you're okay with the two most annoying boys you'll ever meet). BUT, if you're coming to Singapore and don't know what to see or do, give me a shout and I'd be more than happy to give you some advice - I've done it all. ALL.
I've yet to surf, but I'm looking forward to it. This summer will mark my first holiday alone. No obligations or curfews!!!! I'm not the most adventurous person when I'm at home, but when I'm overseas I make the most of the nature and the arts. But unlike many travellers, im not a massive foodie. Of course I'm down for local cuisine, but I don't need to know the corner cafe or the shop 50 miles away that sells the best lemon cake. (unless of course it REALLY is the best lemon cake).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I'm a broke ass college kid who will do anything to save a buck. That being said i have friends who've couch surfed and said it was the best decision they ever made. It's not that you're staying in a local place or that you get to know about little places to go, it's the people themselves. Taking the time to get to know you, take you out maybe, tell you stories and let you into their home. That's the most generous thing I can think anyone could do for a stranger. Open your door and welcome you in.
Interests
And suddenly I don't know what I'm interested in. Men? Dogs? Book collections? THRIFT SHOPS. Love a good thrift shop. I've also recently started getting into museums. Singapores museums are pretty mediocre, but then I went to MOMA and my life changed forever. I'm not a fan of kids unless they're really cute and well behaved.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie of all time is Back To The Future (part I), I can pretty much recite the whole movie (sound effects included). If you have an interest in movies, we'll get along just fine. Music is a weird one. The only band I properly listen to and actually follow is U2. Song genres are either the 50s or the 70s. Good music that's pre 90s is mostly what I'm into. But I'm more likely to watch a movie in my free time than listen to music anyway. Books... I don't have a favourite. However, I've bought a bunch of classics (Hemingway, Harper Lee, Hardy, Fitzgerald, Orwell ect) and have been giving them a go. The only book series I've read from start to finish is Skulduggery Pleasant. Ruined my life, that series.
