About Me

I grew up in Scotland and growing up spent all of my holidays on camping trips exploring all corners of the British Isles, which are some of the most beautiful and undiscovered places I think you can ever find no matter how far across the world you travel (Scottish islands being my favorite).

However since graduating from university a few years ago out of a constant fear of an office job I have been drawn further afield to other countries to work and live. First to America and Canada, and now for the past year I have been living in the French Alps- skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.

I love an adventure, meeting new friends, travelling to new places. As well as travelling to old places with new friends, and new places with old friends....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet interesting people, get more of a feel for a city than just staying in a hostel and seeing the tourist face of a city.

When I have a more stable place to live back in the UK, I look forward to having couchsurfers to stay and experiencing couchsurfing from the other side.

Interests

Too many to list in a small box....

I love the outdoors- skiing, mountain biking, normal cycling, rock climbing, swimming in the sea, jumping into lakes, running, walking, camping, sleeping outside

Cooking, eating, sharing food, especially making cakes.
My cake speciality is carrot cake with a cream cheese icing, and white chocolate and raspberry brownies.

Dancing, good music, sociable drinks and a well earned sleep

Music, Movies, and Books

The books I love most seem to be the books of my childhood- The Secret Garden, Alice in Wonderland, anything by Roald Dahl. I'm still waiting to discover anything that lives up to these childhood fantasies but always keep reading.
Recently I read Shantaram which is a huge eye opener into India, and Indian Culture, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a spare few weeks on their hands (its a bit of a big read!)

Film wise gotta love anything by Wes Anderson, I most appreciate a good storyline and great cinematography. A good documentary. Not really into anything violent/blood/ect.

Any music that will get my feet moving and a smile on my face

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Its hard to single out one amazing thing but anything from spending a few months living in a summer house one snowy winter in Denmark years ago to recently trekking the India/Nepal border and watching the sun rise over Everest and the Sleeping Buddha.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach everyone, learn everything and then share the important bits.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a love of good conversation and travelling tales. Cooking has been a large part of my work for the past year and half, and I love doing it! Me and my boyfriend who I will be travelling with would be delighted to bring the ingredients and cook up a tasty dinner for any hosts who would enjoy it!
