About Me

ABOUT US

We are Daisy and Patrick and we are traveling around the world. During our travels we would really like to meet a lot of people. We believe that couchsurfing can help with that!

About Daisy:
I'm a 33 year old journalist and filmmaker who loves to travel. I write about my travel experiences for magazines and travel companies as well on my own website: www.alldayeverydaisy.com. I also produce travel movies and vlogs. I try to contribute to a more sustainable way of traveling. For a better environment, but also for a more friendly way of caring for local economies and people.

I'm also on a mission to minimize food waste in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands I'm known as the 'Queen of Leftovers'. I wrote two cookbooks about it, did some television performances about the subject and I was featured in many Dutch magazines sharing tips and inspiration. I also did a TedX presentation :-) I try to show people that it can be fun and delicious to not waste food!

I love cooking, traveling, meeting new people, spending time with friends, playing board games, reading books and watching movies.

About Patrick:
I'm a 30 year book professional. I have worked for a publishing house for several years. After that I worked for the biggest book distribution company in the Netherlands. I love reading and writing and I love to spread the love for the written word. Because of that I have started a project to visit book companies throughout the world during our trip.

I love reading, writing, cooking, spending time with friends, laughing, singing and watching movies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For us, couchsurfing is the best way to meet people and get to know a place from the perspective of a local. In our 2 years of full time traveling we've learned that no Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu or Komodo Island can compete with meeting people and making friends all over the world.

Interests

We love travelling and discovering the beauty of each country. We love spending time outside. Nothing can amaze us more than the beauty of nature. But we can also be absorbed in the craziness of vibrant cities too!

Passing Thorung La in Nepal's Himalaya must have been the most exhausting but rewarding thing I ever did!

Patrick: I've read hundreds of books and love talking about my favorite books.

Both: we've been traveling the world full time for 2 years now. We can share many stories, tips, and insights when it comes to sustainable traveling.
