About Me

"Nothing is easier than to denounce the evildoer; nothing is more difficult than to understand him." - Fyodor Dostoevsky

'Hi, My name is Dave and I make mistakes.
I fall down, slip up and go red in the face from time to time. I learn daily without feeling much growth, I earn weekly without procuring much wealth, I age monthly but feel just the same, I think yearly just where has the time gone. Hi, my name is Dave and I'm full of surprises. When I was 13 I promised myself I'd never smoke, when I was 21 I gave them up. Hi, my name is Dave, I enjoy running and I don't think I've ever learned how to love. Hi, my name is Dave and if we ever meet again I'd probably never let you go. Hi, my name is Dave, but in the grand scheme of things my name is irrelevant, I won't count for much, I'll be forgotten amongst the ether, the photos and runaway trains. Hi, my name is blatant, I've been in front of your face the entire time. Hi, my name is regret and I've been missing you. Hi, my name is bittersweet and you'll taste me throughout your lifetime. Hi, my name is thought, I don't think we've met. Hi, my name is arrogance we met long ago. Hi, my name is silence, don't worry. I'll be here.

Hi, my name is youth and I've come to say goodbye, to tell you that there's no fear in taking the next step, nothing wrong in growth, everything to gain in having once known me but going our separate ways.
Hi, my name is life, welcome.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

"I rhyme words, study kurds, appreciate curves and get real life nerves. I take on tasks, I have a blast 'coz it won't last, life moves so fast. I wish kindness didn't have to be random and that I knew my father, could really understand him. I'm never lazy but In need of down time 'coz I'm crazy. I picture Peter Piper picking peppers and wonder did he get a good wage, or ever know his name would be on the world stage. I've tumbled and stumbled, fumbled and even rumbled. I've walked, I've talked, I've laughed and I've cried, I've told many truths and truthfully lied. Well....usually a truth teller, I'll never be a trend setter, always be a go getter, ever reaching better measures, yet never reach for extra pleasures, humbled by my inner treasures.

I run through fields full up of dust, I've got allergies, but it's a must. I swim in freezing lakes just above zero, you can't tell me that doesn't make me a hero. I travel the world and learn from it so, it constantly shows me the little I know.
There's peace and beauty in the places I've seen, through wide open landscapes and mountains I've been. With these homes and these people who live quiet lives, that work for their children, family and wives. To put on their tables some bread and some meat, wilfully working to hopefully eat. No fancy education or time to be bored, just getting a meal is a grateful reward. They teach us real lessons of love and of grace, no better a people than the ones in this place. It takes you out of your mind to a new understanding, the earth's a caring mother, we're just a tad too demanding. The answers are there if we open our eyes, take a second, just look, and soon you'll realise."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've failed....HARD. Many times.

Teach, Learn, Share

Mad Skills:
Ate all my vegetables to grow facial hair, goal SMASHED!
Sleep without a night light and only sometimes get scared.
Allowed around my whole estate up to 9 o' clock.
Drank over 1 beers on more than 2 occasions.
Can do between 1-1 pull ups. I own a tomagotchi and have the entire first season of one tree hill on VHS.
