If I had gathered my friends and asked them each to write down adjectives to describe my personality.
Here is what I would like them to collectively amalgamate and attribute to my personality,
"A Spontaneous yet Organised, Passionate, Highly-Motivated Individual; who's Free-thinking source of Unbiased Intellect, is a solid output into the Cultures he is open minded to explore.".

But maybe they don't share the same love for creative writing (or wishful thinking) as I do. So perhaps they'd say something more realistic like,
"He's a good lad, he's actually got out there and done something off his own back.".

Who am I?

A rather unsettling and complicated question for many. All I may account for are the things I believe I am to be experiencing. I have no absolute proof that anything, this text, the machine that typed them, least of all myself exists at all. That aside...

I'm a boy who has travel stories.
A boy who is still traveling.
A boy who treasures experiences over toys, a hand-woven bracelet over a Rolex.
A boy who travels because he's not blinded by a single goal but enlivened by many.

For far too long I was at the book store, dreaming in the library whilst browsing the travel guides. I would find myself getting lost in the stories of those before me. I would never lie to myself and say it was "only to use them for reference." as I knew I was always set to be in a constant state of what I came to call 'Geographic Disposition'.

I'm the boy who talks of distant places and whose hands of hope have explored the stone relics of an ancient civilization; and whose mind has imagined those hands carving, chiseling, painting that very same dream of the many wonders of this world.

I aspire to inspire. To be more than just the boy who traveled further than the outer regions south of the Shire (Yorkshire).

Sure I lived out of a backpack because I live happily with less, but inside this boy, there is also a man. Just an ordinary man who's traveled further. Not in miles or kilometers, but into the many hearts, minds, and souls of our fellow beings. He has seen poverty and dined with those who live in small shanties with no running water, and yet welcome strangers with as much hospitality as the rich. Once you've existed in moments like these, you will see how a life without luxury can mean an equally fulfilling life fueled by relationships and family rather than a life that fuels fancy cars and ego.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Surfing my way around the world, meeting fellow humans on different trajectories of their own, I hope to inspire and be inspired by the variety of our foods, cultures, ideas, laughter, challenges and extraordinary positivity and insight that will undoubtedly unfold.

I am on a bit of a stop-gap in what started as a three-month backpacking journey across the continents. After my incrdible experience as a volunteer in India my journey began taking me across Europe. Then a slow and steady drift that took over a month across Turkey; almost costing me my life. I would then float up through the Caucuses region. Vagabonding my way across Russia to reach the nomadic ways of Mongolia. The idea was to overland China and then down into South East Asia. Easy after all that right?! Well...actually life is a hilarious comedian and I ended up flying to Thailand instead and here I have existed since September 2016! WOW! So now I will save some money for the Pacific leg of this life journey, see more of Asia than I ever dreamed of and in the meantime, the world can come to my doorstep. It's good to give back!

Couchsurfing allows the most important thing to ever happen on our world (the people) to connect together in culteral experiments. Whilst we may stay for a few days, in truth ou never really leave. Stay with my girlfriend and I, we're good people, it will be worth it. Our journeys continue and I hope you can be a part of it.

When I travel I make lifelong friends in an hour. Although contact with these friends will become sporadic and may be far-between, the bonds are unpassable, immeasurable and for that reason, I want to couch surf the world... again, again and again.

Music is like ice-cream, I can't pick a favorite and if I don't like it I'll simply pick another flavor. But generally, I enjoy something I can sing along to, dance like no one is watching with, or just have nicely in the background over a nice meal or in good company. I enjoy something that reminds me of a certain time, place or person. I hope this is not too broad?

From the top of my head...here's a few

Climbed and Hiked to the top of Snowdonia, Wales; via foot.
Ascended to the top of Tiamanfaya, Spain; via Camel.
Tomb-stoning off the coast of Newquay, England & Órzola, Spain.
Lived and worked at a Bed and Breakfast in Paris, France.
Volunteered with a Youth NGO in a rural part of Tamil Nadu, India.
Travelled from England to Mongolia, via each and every way possible excluding a single aircraft.

I can be very philosophic in my approach to life and though I'm known to be a deep thinker I was taught that true maturity comes in knowing when and where to misbehave, and with that, I have developed true mature mischief.

The greatest perception is to experience different ways of being, I respect all alternative religions, cultures, and perceptions...by doing so it allows us to look at the world with the eyes of a five-year-old, curious and hungry.

Despite wanderlust, I know the importance and think it's sensible to appreciate ties to home. Enjoy the chance to miss and be missed. The overwhelming uncertainty of leaving the comforts of home, the indefinite see-you-laters at the departure gates and off to the fearless unknown. The feeling of return and that I've-missed-you-hug is the best type of hug in the whole world. I also know that goodbyes are just prolonged see-you-laters and that 'hello' is only as far away as the nearest internet cafe.

Life is such an amazing comedian that even if you promise yourself that you won't plan a single thing, it can still go wrong. Fail big and learn from it. Life is all about balance and compromise, so let the flow of life go with you, rather than expect that you can always be going with the flow.
