Happily single school teacher, nearly 40 years in the same great town. I enjoyed the stumbling about career-wise before finding my calling with elementary ed. That stumbling included driving tanks, working in a couple factory jobs, getting two degrees in mechanical engineering before realizing it wasn't for me, coordinating the mobile program for a state motorcycle safety program, along with plenty of other stuff that didn't seem too weird at the time, but sure seem to surprise people when I tell them about it now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For most of those adventures listed above, I've never had an excess of money. It's nice to do some karmic payback for generosity shown me over the years.

Interests

Big climate change believer (seeing the changes in my gardens over 30 years, it's hard not to be a believer), and I like to do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint. 31 solar panels, main transportation is Nissan Leaf, etc.

While I'm trying to leave a decent planet behind, I'm also in the planet and folks who came before, which is why the history piece.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
