About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world through slow vegan travel.
ABOUT ME
This profile is for both Dale & Franca, a vegan couple who quit their jobs in the summer of 2012, sold all of their belongings, and left their friends and families behind them to see the world full-time.
PHILOSOPHY
Coming to the realisation that there's only one shot at life and you need to take it. Don't dream. Don't wait. Do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING / COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We joined Couchsurfing less than six months before we started travelling so have been unable to host anyone, but we look forward to doing so when our travels slow down. So far, we've spent the past three years as surfers only, but it's been one of the biggest contributors to our learning about so many cultures.
Couchsurfing enables people to make friends in new places before you've even arrived and it unlocks the door to learning about not only the physical destination, but also the mental level through direct interactions with locals.
No tour guide, travel guide, or website will ever match the knowledge a local has of how a city lives, drinks & eats.
Interests
We're hold interests in veganism, animal rights, local culture, music, film, and of course travelling :)
Recently our music tastes have included bands such as Russian Circles, And So I Watch You From Afar, and Death From Above 1979.
Our recent TV and Film moments have included: Skyfall, A Seperation, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Game of Thrones.
Our reading interests have recently started to blossom and we've been reading: Cloud Atlas, The Road, Shadow of the Wind, Delivering Happiness, and My Year in Pants.
Obviously, veganism is a big part of our lifestyle and enjoyment.
We're not really drinkers.
We're non-smokers.
We don't go drinking.
We don't party.
We don't go clubbing.
We DO enjoy sharing meals.
We DO enjoy a good coffee.
We DO like spending nights on the sofa talking about the world and sharing travel stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteering for a month with 450 dogs and 35 elephants in the hills in Thailand.
Walking the hill tops of Eastern Italia's Cinque Terre. Footpaths barely a foot wide with no guardrails & a trembling Franca to care for.
Walking the Fife Coastal Path in Eastern Scotland.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can help you practice your English and Italian (if you wish).
We can share some vegan recipes with you.
We'd love to learn more vegan recipes too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What we love to share most is information. We love to learn about things we don't know about. We love to know about you, your life, what makes you happy, and what makes you sad.
Tell us about your world. Explain to us where you want to go in the world and where you've been. We both love travel, and we think that as a Couchsurfer you do too.
