About Me

ABOUT ME

Outgoing, sarcastic, with a penchant for art and mathematics. I like to cook (with others, and a drink and some good music in the background). I like to linger for inordinate amounts of time at art galleries. I've lived all over Canada and moved around a lot when I grew up.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is nearly always in a state of flux. That said, I'll go with "Be open to new ideas and thoughts, and treat others with respect and dignity. Have fun, if possible".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interested in the opportunities to meet new people and see new things. Always interested in what people like about their city/area.

Interests

Good beer with new friends, current events, science, art, languages, new and different foods and good conversations. Most types of music (recovering blues addict and former music snob). I like to paint portraits and make mathematical art with computers. I've done research projects on black holes, quantum measures of entanglement, cold atomic gases, and precision spectroscopy. Interested in cool research and novel ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

Non-fiction books about science (especially in fields I haven't learned about). Blues music (Robert Johnson, Rev.Gary Davis, Buddy Guy, Junior wells, Professor Longhair,Lowell Fulsom, Little Walter, Big Walter, James Cotton, etc etc). I like Faulkner, Camus, Doestoyevsky, Kurt Vonnegut and Sylvia Plath. Others too but I'll keep it to that for now

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite experiences was the semester that I spent in Moscow studying math. I loved the city, the culture, the math, everything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to play the blues harmonica, can share some tricks or simply have a blues jam together. I also like to have conversations on math or physics (hold a bachelor degree in those)
