ABOUT ME

[Dallas] Lets see... my life...
Well I was home schooled my whole life. I graduated university with a BS in Mathematics. I got a job teaching Algebra 1 at a public High school in Texas. My god did I hate that job! Way to stressful. So I ran off and lived on a sailboat in Florida.
After that, I moved to South Korea to teach ESL. I had an amazing time there. And I met my husband there too! Next I moved to Thailand to teach adorable Thai kids. After all that I spent a year and a half teaching maths in Beijing!

Now I am on a wonderful camping trip with my husband.

I must say I love my life!!

[Grant] Well, lets see. After finishing high school, I lived in Johannesburg for about 8 years. During this time i got my LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree, and played in a hard rock band and had lots of fun. Eventually the law thing just wasnt working out for me, and I decided to quit it all and go travelling. Best decision of my life. I've spent about a year and a half living and working in Thailand (twice), and absolutely loved it. Also spent about a year and a half in South Korea (where I met Dallas), and also about a year and a half in China. I love music. A lot! I've been playing guitar for about 16 years now, and even started learning Flamenco a few years ago. Difficult, but very rewarding. I also love travelling, meeting people and experiencing new things.
Since travelling, I've also picked up photography as a hobby. Here's a link to my flickr page:

[US] We finished our last jobs in China in November and have spent the last 6 months travelling around both South Africa and the U.S.A. We just got married in April, and as of now, we are hoping to get work in the middle east somewhere in August.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Dallas' family are very experienced with couchsurfing and have been hosting people for years.
As for ourselves, we've only done it a few times when we were living in Thailand. We hosted a few people at the village we were living in, and went on a few road trips where people have hosted us. It was a lot of fun (both ways), and cant wait to do it all over again.

Música, películas y libros

[Dallas]Wow! Where to begin.
Movies are great! My favorites for now are LOTR, Inception, Garden State, Howel's Moving Castle, Boondocks Saints, Star Wars (original 3), Indiana Jones (1st three), and a whole lot more.

Music is hard as well. I enjoy all kinds of music. I like pretty much anything excluding rap and country. Though there are some songs in those categories that I like. Some bands/singers I like: Perfect Circle, Incubus, Adel, Pink Floyd, Thrice, Manic Street Preachers, Alanis Morissette, the Beatles, Bjork, Black Sabbath, and sooo much more.

I love to read. Here are a few books I enjoyed reading: Book of the Dead, Sherlock Holmes, LOTR series, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Bill Hicks' biography (I can't remember the name), and I'm sure there are tons more, I just can't remember at the moment.

[Grant] As I've mentioned before, music is a big part of my life. I like many different kinds of music, but i love classic and hard rock, with a bit of metal thrown in the mix, and maybe some movie soundtracks, oh, and flamenco too, and i guess lots of other stuff... etc.
Books? Yes, I read.
Movies - Yes, i like them too.

Algo increíble que he hecho

[Dallas]One of the best moments I have had is standing at sunrise by God's Window in South Africa. I was with Grant, and the moment was amazing (and very cold). The whole world was peaceful in that moment. It felt like I was on the top of the world and the only two people were my husband and myself.

[Grant] Umm, its kind of hard to just choose one. Slaying that dragon must of been the top, but besides that, marrying Dallas/going around the world/skydiving/ road tripping across Thailand or South Africa or USA. Not sure really.
