Music, Movies, and Books

I like listening to most types of music; life needs a soundtrack! I love Biological thrillers, so Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors. Another one I've read recently is Germ by Robert Liparulo. I'm a big fan of action/adventure and suspense movies, as well as animated ones, like Minions. Always a child at heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just before graduating I started teaching a full immersion Spanish class for children, mostly under the age of 6. I really enjoy working around kids, probably because it brings my inner child out!

I've also been to Peru and climbed Macchu Pichu, but the highlight of my Peru trip was actually living like a local Cusquenian, including dealing with locking myself out of the apartment (calling a locksmith at his home at 11pm), leaving my wallet in a restaurant in the middle of the valley (coordinating with tour guide how to get it back across the country), and leaving my phone in a cab and having to buy a new one (including data plan, a hassle in my native tongue), all in a language I was only learning at the time! That was full immersion and for me an experience I wouldn't trade.

At 19, I also packed my car, drove over the weekend and moved across the country to North Dakota for 8 months. Only having an acquaintance there at the time. That was probably the best experience of my life and I made lifelong friends there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Spanish and basic photography skills, as well as many odds and ends things I know how to do - gardening, knitting, sewing, rock climbing, some cooking.

I would love to learn more languages, and just about anything else. As a child never interested in sports, I've also recently found myself drawn to playing more recreationally. Flag football, soccer and rugby are on my todo list. Would enjoy upping my tennis game as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have worked as a professional photographer, as well as Spanish instructor, so in those two things I am very proficient. I would love to share those talents as well as the many others I possess with my hosts! Spanish practice (or learning more) and professional/fun portraits for CS.com!
