ABOUT ME

I am a Glaswegian, now living and loving Dalyan, South West Turkey. I can be funny/dry, caring and passionate. I speak from the heart and occasionally the hip. I have been backpacking with my husband Joe for 20 years, some long trips, some short but all with passion, excitement, laughter, reflection and open mindedness.
My other passions are people, cooking, music (many genres), reading, documentaries, world/political awareness, and i love my family, friends and husband.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING#

I host as I enjoy meeting travellers, sharing stories and my home, which allows people to travel more. I surf for these reasons and of course it makes travel more affordable.

Usually I host guests except in the height of summer, as many of our friends and family visit from Scotland usually spending 1-2 weeks in Dalyan, occasionally 6 weeks. I do not host then but will met for drink, give advice to surfers.I have travelled for many years, and am totally committed to the philosophy of worldwide hospitality and friendship so guess that's why I'm a member. I

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some hosting experience, which i really enjoy, as I like to cook, share ideas, listen to music, show people around, talk and share a few beers. I have surfed in US and Sri Lanka and will certainly do some more of it! So all positive so far.

Interests

I am interested in family and friends particularly, my husband Joe, and continuing our 20 year exploration together of the world, music, food, politics, culture. Meeting other people, to share ideas, especially around creating social change and challenging inequalities. also interested in what makes people laugh...a lot.

Music-Americana, dub, world, funk, dance, folk, punk, indie rock.....etc, etc.
I do not have favorite books, there are too many,but some I like include: God of Small Things, White Swans-3 Daughters of China,The sisters brothers-Patrick Dewitt, Carl Hiaasen, James Ellroy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We were stalked and been attacked by a mother tiger in the foothills of the Himalayas, she was protecting her cub, lovely, scary, life changing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy people who listen, who are confident and willing to share their positivity. I enjoy discussing what's happening across the planet, how we can engage with this and one another. I love talking to people about who they are, where they've been, what they think and WHY. I also talk/listen music, books, food, and like when people recommend stuff.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking , and hope to bring humorous and insightful conversation to the table. I been a wild rover for many a year, and have shed loads of travelling tips and stories.
