About Me

My partner Fred (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/fred_sack) and I are on the road again =]

ABOUT ME

After 22 long years I have finally freed myself from the claws of formal education in institutions. I recently acquired a medical license in Poland, but I'm not yet ready to enter (and might never be) into the realm of the medical workforce. I want to use my new found time to personally grow and develop in a manner that satisfies the whims of my curiosity. Of all the people I've met in my life, I happened to stumble across a charming fellow who happens to crave for yearnings similar to mine. Since everyone says that two heads are better than one, our plan is to hitchhike together in various paths around Earth for an indefinite amount of time. If they happen to cross with yours, then all the better as it's awkward to write about myself and meeting each other is a much more efficient way of knowing anything about me and being able to know anything about you. =]

If you send me a request please use the words "rainbow unicorn" somewhere in your message =P

PHILOSOPHY

As of now I have more questions than answers. For the most part I try to go with the flow down the path of least resistance. That isn't to say that I'm looking for happiness or comfort; I like to think that I project "happiness" onto my experiences rather than looking for it externally, and usually the more difficult a challenge or obstacle was to overcome the stronger the lesson and the better the story....and everyone loves a great story.
I want to be clear in saying that this train of thought along with any other ones I might have had have been working for me so far, but I would by no means impose them on anyone else as they are based on the circumstances I was born into and the situation I'm in at the moment. I think we all have extremely unique personal histories and that each of us has to find their own method of experiencing and coping with our given or chosen environments. Nevertheless, I think it's quite valuable to share our perceptions as the more possibilities and ideas we're exposed to, the better we can refine our own philosophies as well as understand those of others. In turn, perhaps we can use those collected concepts by applying them in the manner best suited to our unique abilities for a cause worth advancing. To be continued....?

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: sooooooo many, but some that come to mind now are black cat white cat, a pigeon sat on a branch reflecting on existence, waking life, a scanner darkly, the act of killing,
shows: rick and morty, adventure time, south park.

music: It depends on the phase.

books: I'll just name some authors whose books I have read and whose works I would love to explore further: Hunter S. Thompson, Kurt Vonnegut, Daniel Quinn, Philip K. Dick, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Chuck Palahniuk, Oscar Wilde, Lord Byron, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, Vladimir Nabokov, Ursula Le Guin, Susan Neiman, Naomi Klein, David Graeber.
My favorite website to read is www.brainpickings.org by Maria Popova

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Managed to maintain close relationships with people who no longer live in the same country or on the same continent as me =]

2019 update: Sadly this isn't as true as it used to be, but I'm learning to let go of relationships that are devoid of anything but nostalgia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you: the art of medicine and health (anything I haven't already forgotten), to read music, basic juggling, English, Polish, basic Tae Kwon Do (I have a black belt, but it's been a while since I trained) , drawing and basic photography

I would like to learn: advanced juggling techniques, singing, any games, tongue twisters, more photography techniques, survival skills, computer science, graphic design, botany and herbal medicine, many many languages, to make clothing, swing dancing, and much much more.

What we can share: lovely conversations about our developing philosophies and observations, we can draw and make art together, cook delicious food together, learn a variety of skills and concepts, play music, sit in silence, read books out loud to each other, and explore the vast lands and seas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess it would depend on the host and their mood that day. I've stayed with some people that preferred to relax and be left alone, which is perfectly fine, I still appreciate their hospitality and respect their time and space. When a host does have some time and energy to spare then my idea of a lovely way to spend it is on adventures and conversation over shared food.
