About Me
My name is Thys Reynolds. I'm a college student in Syracuse, New York, attending the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, or SUNY-ESF for short. I grew up all over the USA, and in Istanbul, Turkey.
If I could, I'd spend the rest of my life living as a mountain man in the North Cascades around my home in Washington. I love backpacking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, trail running, caving, and pretty much anything outside that gets the blood flowing and the adrenaline pumping.
I don't think of myself as a particularly creative, or 'artsy' person, but I do have a great appreciation for literature and writing. Ernest Hemingway is my favorite author, but I love reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. I also write when I have the time, as I find it to be a wonderful outlet for any sort of stress or frustration.
Music is also an important part of my life. I find both listening to and playing music deeply relaxing. I try and keep an open mind and listen to a wide array of genres and artists. My personal favorites at the moment are the John Butler Trio, Noah and the Whale, and J. Cole.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was lucky enough, as an early teenager, to be able to travel around the world and see far more of it than most kids my age. I'll never be able to come to terms with the sheer enormity of all the combined places and people on Earth, but I know that I still haven't seen even the tiniest fraction of what the world has to offer. I want to get out there and see what I've been missing.
