Kiwi running away ( can't fly ) from our 10 year life in London. Once a musician, then an I.T jockey I'm running to the sanctuary of the hills, all the hills I can get a visa to.
This stage of my life is a transition from western slave to nomadic free folk. Lots of yoga, lots meditation lots of new.
Currently in Varanasi India, we drove 23,000 miles through 17 countries in 6 mths across Europe, Central Asia, Siberia, Mongolia and then back again to Kyrgyzstan. From there we had to fly to India for 5 mths due to Visa issues with China and not being able to drive the car further because of duty laws from multiple countries. Again we flew to Thailand for 3 weddings - so the overland thing got interrupted, but we are back on track and about to hit the 2 year mark before arriving back in NZ after 13 years abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The gift of giving and learning to except the hospitality of others.
Our own london apt has be a dosing joint over the years to many a traveller and friend, couch surfing or crashing at a strangers home is an ethos we follow and have participated in for 20 years long before apps websites and Facebook.
My wife and i are travelling from London to New Zealand overland.
We are doing so by car (Nissan Micra) and will be living in said car. Our aim is to go as long as we can without creating too much of a carbon foot print or braking the bank.
Occasionally bucket showers may get a bit much for my lovely wife, and I doubt I can stretch in comfort within our micra home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Still doing it.

Lived in a converted Nissan Micra and drove London to Mongolia. Slept in -25c on my 37th birthday in no-mans land between Mongolia and Russia. Navigated Mongolia's landscape with a compass and tourist attraction map
(lost our iPhone gps). As a couple in such a confined space bombarded with the rigorous driving conditions -
we survived !!

I can teach or impart my views and knowledge in Music, Drum kit, Tabla, Percussion, Sound design.
Crystal is/was a world class hair dresser... but not sure she can impart much in one stay :-P

....and of course we can share all our travel knowledge and dispel any 'Myths and Opinions' on the various countries we recently drove through.
