About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Nurturing adventure by exploring the Rockies with my snowboard.

ABOUT ME

I love to learn, share and NURTURE ADVENTURE! I am currently in the US and Canada for about 5 months. I came here to explore the snowboarding opportunities of the North America and experience the cultures within.

I am at my best when with my friends out on an adventure. Next best planning/recovering from one.

After high school I became a surf bum that studied Tourism. I knew I wanted to travel. I thought I had better get a degree first as there would be no way I would want to study after travelling. So I moved to Christchurch to explore NZ more and got one. Then I got a great job opportunity, forgoing the travel for a career!

After 5 years I realised that I was not enjoying this suit and tie lifestlye. I made big changes and life became really fun. I started teaching kids how to ride on the road safely, built heaps of MTB tracks, and did some MTB coaching and guiding. Ahhh that’s better.

Favourite pass times:

Surfing a lifelong passion since I was 11. I want to be riding in my 60s.

Snowboarding - I have a deep devotion to it, not a park junkie, more of a slack country explorer.

Mountain Biking - Christchurch and the surrounds is one of the best places on the planet for riding. I enjoy mountain forest riding the best in our alpine areas.

PHILOSOPHY

Understanding what you truly value is the gateway to fulfilment.

If we know what is important to us, we can move our life towards that which is important to us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this couch surfing community although I have hosted and been hosted many times before in New Zealand.

Once I get back home the idea of meeting and sharing with fellow travellers really appeals!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really enjoy the massive amount of experiences that are shared and learnt from.

I truly appreciate my time being hosted and to which I am made aware of during that time.

I take great pleasure in sharing knowledge and experiences that may be of greatest benefit to an individual. I always learn something from them too while enhancing their stay and their journey.

Interests

Hanging out being highly social. I don't often hangout at home by myself, I pick up the phone and link up with friends, relentlessly.

Surfing banks peninsular and kaikoura.

Snowboarding - Club fields specifically. Best access to back country, not many folks and their all friendly!

Mountain Biking - Trail, DH, Skateparks, Dirt Jumps.
On occasion we will ride scree, you have to watch out your eyes don't pop out of you skull. One hour up, 10-30 seconds down! Closer to home its more about trail riding, jumps and downhill. In the most social of ways possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am massively into music. Don't know where to start, currently listening to a lot of Brainfeeder music, I am immersed in DnB. Really could go on forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfing in Maungamanu, Kaikoura - looking up at snow capped mountains on a 400m reef/point break...Bliss

Seeing a New Zealand Falcon while on the summit of Hamilton Peak. It showed us up with its rapid descent.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach Learn share:
I recently completed one of the best public speaking courses in the world. I have some knowledge and training in NLP for personal and business coaching.

I am also clued up in Mountain Biking skills coaching too.

Countries I’ve Visited
