I like to think that I am quite an easy going guy with an offbeat sense of humour, often interlaced with dark, cynical and sarcastic undertones. I am always up for a good lively discussion or light hearted argument about all manner of topics and as a big believer in free speech, I don't think that any subject or topic should not be discussed, whatever principles you have or way of life you lead is cool by me!

I spend a lot of my time just kinda screwing around doing whatever I feel like, I can be incredibly lazy but aside from mindlessly browsing the internet I enjoy hiking, playing guitar, driving around in my car or just hanging out and drinking with friends, I like to live a simple enough life, if I could do any of that stuff on my travels I would be extremely happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be able to travel and meet people locally in the places I visit as I go, to experience the culture, and just hang out and do as the locals would do!

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically I am into a good mix of genres and artists, my main focus is on indie/folk/rock, currently my favourite artists in these genres are Mac Demarco, Tame Impala, Fleet Foxes, Tops, Father John Misty, Jack Johnson, Tennis Real Estate, Wavves etc

I've also got a long list of guilty pleasures including all kinds of horrible pop music, stuff from the 80s in particular, along with hearty sprinklings of music from the likes of Abba, Hall & Oates, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, whatever, anything as long as it's cheesy and catchy.

In terms of movies, I am a massive fan of Westerns, nothing else comes close to the comfy aesthetic and simple storytelling that a well made Western can offer. Clint Eastwood is my all time favourite actor, as are several of his films. I am also a big fan of everything Quentin Tarantino has produced.

I also really enjoy films that are nonsensical and have very little actual plot or point to them, finding a gem that manages to squeeze endless laughs in without making much sense or having much going on is always special to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am pretty good at baking and can cook a decent meal from time to time, I can also play guitar (badly, and I mean BADLY) I have been told I'm a good singer too, and to be fair I think I can sing a bit better than I can play guitar.
