ABOUT ME

I grew up in a mixed community and didn't really have a lot of opportunity to travel as much as I would have liked. As I got older I made those opportunities happen and I believe that I'm a better person overall because of the people that I have met and the places I have been.

PHILOSOPHY

Make the best with what you have. Eat the best that you can, travel to places you can travel and learn as much as you can about what interests you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live with 3 roommates, 2 are retired, the other slightly younger than I. I'm getting back into hosting since I'm stable and looking to make new acquaintances.

I have thoroughly enjoyed going to a few couch surfing meetings in Sacramento and also getting to meet with fellow couch surfers that were traveling. I have hosted once in Sacramento, a few years back. A past roommate got drunk and belligerent and the guest left. I intend to insure my guests happiness and safety foremost going forward.

Interests

I love to cook and eat with others, my service dog Ginger means the world to me. She's always by my side and goes everywhere with me. I'm a hard working man and occasionally I make a sincere effort to reach out to others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is so personal, don't you think? I could generalize the type of music that I listen too but the fact is I like just about everything. Books on the other hand I can be much more specific about. I like certain Authors. Their prose and composition just suit me more than others. James Patterson, Stephan King, Dan Brown, Michael Crichton and a few others that tend to grab my attention and never let go. Similarly certain Directors and Actors usually end up on my Netflix Que and least surprisingly they are very similar to the kinds of books that I read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Mt Misen on Miyajima Island and looked out over Hiroshima. I have seen nearly every consievable wonder in Rome including but not limited to St. Peter's square/basilica and tomb, the Pieta/Sistine Chapel, The Vatican catacombs, the pantheon, the Spanish steps, the Coloseum, trevi fountain and more.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and clean! The first couch surfing experience I had I made my host fresh pizza preparing everything from the dough to the sauce and the toppings. Needless to say she loved it :-)
