About Me

Heya!

I am Damien, from a beautiful town called Marburg in the heart of Germany.

I'll laugh often about many, stupid and simple things and I try to always see the bright side in any situation. Changing from being an adventure and adrenaline seeker to a binge watching geek in a day is not uncommon for me, haha. Generally speaking I'm interested in all sorts of things and there isn't much I don't want to hear more about.

Most of my closer friends would call me a bit nuts; I believe in risk vs. reward, so I often finish up in some really funny and sometimes dodgy situations.
I really love rough adventures, where I really don't know what's going to happen, like sailing to an unknown island or heading into the deepest jungle ... for me, that is where the magic begins!

While I can certainly enjoy a party and getting wasted here and then, I prefer an educational cup of coffee (or glass of wine ;)) over a hangover as I am traveling to learn and get to know beautiful people rather than "just" having fun.

People, education and adventure: That sums up what I leave the house for. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love diversity! Couchsurfing is a great way to bring cultures and people together and let them grow as a social consensus.

The kindness I received through this community and outside of it is overwhelming, so I will pay it forward whenever I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to pin it down, but I would say booking a one-way-ticket to South America with 400 € in my pocket. Really tough, but fantastic year with incredible people. ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want, I can show you some self-defense basics. I do krav-maga and used to do karate for 8 years.

There is hardly anything I don't want to learn - apart knitting, that freaks me out. :-(

What I Can Share with Hosts

A hand with whatever I can help you with, stories, an ear and of course I'll be happy to cook something for you. :)
If you need translations from German-English or vice versa I can do that for you as well.

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Monaco, Netherlands, Oman, Palestine, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates
