Teach, Learn, Share
College isn't the only route. The society we live in has made it seem that is is college or bust. This is not true. In college you learn a set of skills to perform a set of tasks. In life you learn many skills to perform many tasks. College just centers on what is it you want to study. Self obtained knowledge is free and it is just as effective as college. Everything I know about videography i've learned through trial and error, youtube and friends. No college at all. But it is safe to say that all I know about it is worth a year or two of college.
This is America. You can be whoever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. You can start a business. You can be a professional athlete. You can be a photographer, videographer..and so much more without a college degree. A degree is the safe way. It is easier in this life with a degree. But, does that make it better? It depends on your definition of better. With a degree you'll be more secure in most cases. The Fortune 500 company you work for will have benefits,401K, 2 weeks a year paid vacation off...blah blah blah. You wake up at 9.. you go home at 5. You get paid every two weeks... The thing you will then lack, is freedom. You can't do whatever you want when you want. You can on your 2 weeks off.. but yeah. You make a set amount each year with little room for advance. You work 40+ years before you can afford to retire.. if you can afford to at all.
Or you can take the road less traveled as I have. No security. No assurances. But freedom. I can make as much money I want. I can do what I want when I want. The risk is high. But the rewards are not only high. But also endless. I may be asking "do you want fries with that"? or I may be living large. Who knows. Thats the beauty of it. The excitement. The unknown. Yeah I'm scared. but I'd have it no other way. Maybe you should consider it as well.
