About Me

Hey what's up! I'm Dan, grew up in England but moved to Melbourne Australia when I was 16. Lived there until last year, when I quit my job, sold or gave away all my things and hit the road. Since then I've been to Philippines, Taiwan, New York, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, and now back in the States.

Used to work in the not-for-profit sector, mainly humanitarian aid organizations and children's rights charities. Now I'm writing a book.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've learnt that in life it's not the destination, it's who you travel with, that makes all the difference.

I've been blessed more than I deserve to find myself constantly surrounded with some of the coolest, most awesome people I've ever met everywhere I go, and for that I'm eternally grateful.

To be a good person to the people you surround yourself with is one of the highest aspirations you can have in my opinion. I'm always looking to meet more awesome people and continue this great adventure I've found myself on.

Interests

I enjoy meeting new people, creating new friendships, going on crazy adventures, spontaneous discoveries, new food, beautiful places, beautiful people, and tacos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got invited to participate in a bull fight in Costa Rica which, being drunk, I accepted, and then a guy died about 10 meters away from me by getting his head crushed against the ground my the bull as he tried to escape. That was the beginning and the end of my bull-fighting career.
