We are both from the UK, and have been living in Whistler for the winter season working as servers at the Four Seasons. We've now started a roadtrip across British Columbia and the States.

We're currently in Tofino, and will be heading through the USA in late June, July and August. Our route is to drive down to Cali, up to Yellowstone, then head down through New Orleans and back up to the east coast of Canada.

Dan’s Background

My name is Dan, I'm 27 and am from Wimbledon in London. I did a year Art Foundation following high school, then studied History at university. I have since worked in documentary television production as a researcher and assistant producer. I'm taking a break from my career to travel and live abroad, and don’t want to go home yet! I do art in my spare time, mainly paintings and ink drawings, and very happy to make things for you if you're interested.

Jess’ Background

I’m Jess, I’m 23 and am from Essex, England. I studied Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design at university. I have since worked in the recruitment industry in London. I left the UK because I wanted to travel the world!

I am outgoing and friendly, and get on well easily with all types of people. I also like to do art in my spare time, and my hobbies include scuba diving, rollerblading and bungee jumping. I also love animals, and have many pets at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

We're both really into music and listen to a big variety, from Pink Floyd to Drake. Jess is a bit of a rock chick, into the Pixies and so on, and Dan likes rock but also more into soul, hip hop and reggae. I also have an African drum in the car so if you are musical we could definitely have a jam. We also love seeing live music and going to festivals.

My favourite authors are Haruki Murakami, Hilary Mantel and Robert Harris. Movie favourites include anything by the Coen brothers, Get Him to the Greek, I Love You Man, O Brother Where Art Thou, Big Fish, and we also like horror movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jess saved a bird that had been injured by a cat in her garden. And Dan gave a whole roast ham to a homeless guy at Christmas.
