I love exploring new areas and getting to know new people. I am a semi-experienced solo traveler and usually use hostels for accommodations. However, I am starting to get more into long term traveling and I am looking for cheaper ways to do it.

This years trip is through most of eastern Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The chance to get to meet local people and really get a feel for local culture is an ultimate thrill for me. What other way is there to get to know an area?

If you are free one night during my stay or along my route, I would like to grab a beer with you and just talk about life and traveling.

Interests

I am very passionate about sustainability. I am heading to New Zealand to build tiny houses. Eventually, when I return to the US, I want to build my own tiny house community to rent out. Complete with a solar panel farm, community garden and green methods of water treatment.

Music, Movies, and Books

When I stay in hostels, I enjoy going to the common room with other travelers and sharing my music with them and then listening to their favorites as well. Favorite band of the week: The Wonder Years.

Jumped off a waterfall in Costa Rica after taking an ATV tour into the middle of the rain forest.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always willing to learn or share new cheap travel techniques. Also just earned my TEFL certificate and want to teach english in South Korea after New Zealand.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I work in construction and can fix most things in residential houses with the right tools. I love sharing this so people are able to fix things on their own rather that hiring people looking like me to do it for them.
