Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I have a place, I'm happy to host. There's no better way to meet people, understand the culture, really learn an area, etc, than speaking with the people from that area, getting to really know them, etc. It's a great way to make friends, and I've been very blessed. I'm actually just getting on the site, but have been couchsurfing for a long time...

Most of the time, I'm not really looking for a place, as I have so many regular places in different areas, but am always looking to meet up and grab a coffee/beer.

Too many to name, but I played in an Irish rock band for years, love punk music, 50's music, sung barbershop. Books and movies I'll have to come back to this!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of my life has been pretty amazing, but I've cheated death a couple of times, though the coma for 41 days in '92 was pretty close! Was at West Point, but life went 180 degrees and after the accident, I got into the film industry, wandering, music industry, writing, and became fairly skilled in like 30 jobs. Been to 47 states. Hitchhiked from MD to CA one time, saw most of the country another time in an Itasca, made my way down the east coast and across to NM another time. Just bouncing along....

But hitchhiking with my pet mouse, Merlin (he's long gone now, but I write children's books about him) across country to CA was a big one!
