Overview
About Me
I'm 21 and from the UK. I live in Liverpool (the Beatles, soccer etc) and I'm currently training to be a barrister (aka lawyer) in England. My work interests are in large-scale fraud claims, human rights and lgbtq rights.
I'm brand new to CS and very eager to get involved with this community. I'm solo-travelling around California in August 2019 so looking to make new friends while I'm out there and embark on some adventures. I'm very open minded and love trying new things, meeting new people and generally throwing myself out of my comfort zone - after all, variety is the spice of life, so they say.
In that spirit, I'm very game to hang out with any hosts (or any other travelers) and have some fun. I'll go for anything alcohol related, live music related, hiking or other outdoors activities related, local food related, theatre related or discussions-about-current-politics-as-we-drink-wine-to-ease-the-pain related.
Philosophy:
Be kind, be useful.
(I totally didn't plagiarize that from Barack Obama)
Best adventures I've had so far: a six week road trip from New Hampshire to Florida and back; trekking in Peru; skiing in the Alps.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet up with interesting and genuine, local people who could show me around their neighborhood and give me a true insight into the life, culture and history of their town/city.
Interests
My main interests:
Reading - naturally I'm a fan of books on law, politics, civil rights, social policy etc. I follow US politics a lot and am very interested in the upcoming election. I also read books on history (going through a middle east phase at the moment) as well as religion and spirituality. I also delve into fiction on occasion.
Im dedicated to working out and keeping fit. I also enjoy hiking, skiing and have recently gotten into yoga.
Drama and theatre - I love exploring local theatre and have done quite a bit of acting myself. I even got to tour internationally a few years back. Also big fan of stand up comedy and sketch shows.
Cooking and trying new foods. Ill give everything a go so long as I've got a glass of good wine nearby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to act in a production of Shakespeare's "twelfth night" in Central Park. It was awesome, even though it rained for the whole damned show.
Teach, Learn, Share
Tips on where to get the best coffee, wine and local food would be fab! Also local history, culture and art.
Local hiking trails and secret spots would be great to learn also.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Aside from the entertainment of listening to my dulcet British accent, I'm great at buying rounds and would be game to get cooking. I am a polite, respectful and clean young professional. I also credit myself as being a great conversationalist and can share my stories from the courtroom and tell you all about how law in the real world is nothing like Suits or Law and Order etc.
Also I promise to leave you with a gift as a thank you for hosting me.
Finally I'm game to reciprocate hosting if you find yourself in the UK.
