ABOUT ME
Hi there! So first off - I just created this profile so I'm not verified nor vouched for by other members yet. If this is a concern see the bottom of this section for my attempt to convince you I'm trustable. Also, I can sleep outside your house in a tent.
I am currently biking up the coast of CA. I will be flying out of SFO Wednesday, the 28th and would like to find a place to shower and possibly do laundry before I hop on the plane. If I can find a host for the night before, the 27th, that'd be great too but not necessary. At the moment I plan on just setting up a hammock in the forest to the west of the airport
Ok so here's my attempt to show to you that I'm a trustable person. I don't really know how I can accomplish this. I posted a picture of myself with my drivers license in order to verify my identification (I don't have an extra $25 at the moment to do it with CS). I could Skype with you before hand if you'd like. The only other thing I can think of is describe what I do in order to show that I'm not a bum (don't get me wrong - I do enjoy bumming around). I am currently finishing up my degree in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University with a minor in neural computation. My main area of interest is machine learning, which is a branch of artificial intelligence, which is in turn is mostly just some math and statistics. During the last two years I've focused on applying machine learning methods to neuroscience data. I've been working under a research fellowship at the Center of Neural Basis of Cognition at CMU. Evidence of this can be seen on my advisors website under the heading "current undergrad research fellows" (http://www.cnbc.cmu.edu/~tai/) and also more evidence from my senior thesis: http://www.csd.cs.cmu.edu/education/bscs/thesis-topics/13_Howarth.html . Last summer I took a break from brain related things and worked at the machine learning group at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab. Evidence of this is in my photos where I'm standing next to a model Curosity rover with my JPL badge on.
