About Me

I started traveling April 2015, in Japan, and have been slowly making my way west, traveling the world, experiencing other cultures, life and people. That's really what life's all about.

I'm a joker by nature. I love to laugh and drop silly jokes whenever the opportunity arises. I'm very laid back, very clean and neat. I enjoy good conversation (especially with a good cup of tea or coffee), am well read and have a lot of different experiences to share. I love architecture and design aesthetics as long as it's function isn't lost. I love exploring the nooks and crannies of cities, towns, nature...

I'm a Divemaster, rock/ice climbing, mountain/city biking, backcountry downhill/trail telemark skiing, backpacking, canyoneering, rock hopping, city wandering outdoor explorer.

I'm practicing and studying Buddhism and try to meditate twice a day. I respect all cultures, regardless of the hype the media spins.

I'm a specialty coffee lover (SCAA certified brewing tech, ex professional roaster and espresso repair tech) and have a very discerning palate (especially for someone so cheap) and love most all ethnic foods (esp. Sushi!!!). I have also become a tea geek during my travels and have great Chinese teas and a travel tea brewing setup which I love to share!

I love physics although I have no formal background in it and organic chemistry as well as I'm fascinated with the chemical reactions that happen in roasting and brewing coffee.

I used to be a HUGE technohead, techno dj and went to tons of warehouse parties from '91-'97, dancing till they shut down in the morning.

I try to live a very healthy life: mind; body; environment. I am a vegetarian. I don’t drink alcohol. I don't smoke. I try not to be around cigarettes. The smoke tends to give me a serious headache.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to experience real people and real cultures, not be a tourist. I plan on spending as much time as I can in each country I visit and the best way to learn that is living with someone from the area I'm visiting so I can learn everything about the area that they live in and do whatever I can to help them out as well, cleaning, cooking . . . whatever.
