Overview
About Me
I grew up in the wonderful republic of South Africa, studying Earth Science before moving to Brussels, Belgium to continue my education in Marine science and management. I have been using Couchsurfer for about 1 year now, first hosting people and later using it to stay with people whilst travelling and have been absolutely blown away by the kindness and friendliness of people using it. Given the choice between a hostel or even hotel whilst travelling, I would opt to use Couchsurfer. There is no substitute for experience, and having the opportunity to meet and stay with a local in an area you've never been before is an ideal way to learn about a place and its people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've only discovered this with experience, but Couchsurfer is an amazing way to meet like-minded people. I initially joined for the simple reason of saving money and helping other travelers do the same, but I've learnt that this is about so much more than that.

Sharing experiences, ideas and simply day-to-day normalities with people is the best part about Couchsurfer. It's almost as if you know you're going to have a good time before you've even met.
