About Me

I live in London and I love travelling.

I work hard so opportunities for me to travel are rare, so I try to make the most of it when I do get a chance.

I love getting to know new places and people, learning about different ways of living life, exploring culture, cuisine, new activities and anything else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tend to travel solo and believe I can get the best of it if I can meet or stay with cool people who know the area. I also love the chance to really get to know people who, other than through Couchsurfing, I would have never come close to meeting.

I usually find that Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to explore new places independently, while also enjoying the company and guidance of someone who lives in the area, which is the best of both worlds.

Interests

At home I practice Tai Chi, go bouldering, go to live music and spend time with friends. I work for a start-up in the media space, and really enjoy the culture and the people of the industry.

When travelling I love trying new things, especially food, making friends, getting into nature and having some fun. I'm easily stimulated by new surroundings.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to most forms of music. I could write a huge list of bands, composers and songwriters which I especially love, but more than anything I like being able to see great performers on stage.

I like a lot of international directors like Bergman, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa. I also love Kubrick.

My favourite books are 2666 by Roberto Bolano, Austerlitz by W. G. Sebald, Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse, and... I could go on forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a few months travelling India, and at one point I had a brain freeze and was completely at a loss for what to do next. I went on a bus heading North, and whenever I arrived at a bus station I'd ask for whichever the next bus heading North was. In the end, I was on rugged buses for around 87 hours, ending up in McLeod Ganj. It was weird and uncomfortable, but I've never had such a great opportunity to get to know myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been working in the media industry for the last few years tracking the challenges facing newspapers and magazines. I can talk plenty about where I think the media is going globally.

I'm a philosophy graduate, too. Approach that with caution.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm polite and friendly. I can talk about almost anything. I'm open to trying new things. I hopefully can teach you about something interesting, maybe related to philosophy.
