About Me

FOR HOSTS
A trip to a new place is incomplete for me without meeting locals and experiencing where I am through the eyes of the people I meet. My surfer philosophy is that I'm happy to see whatever of your world you'd like to share.
I consider myself a chill, fun and engaging traveler. I’m a good conversationalist who can cook, drink and tell good stories. I am open to do everything or nothing.

FOR SURFERS

Welcome!

If you just need a place to crash and want to make a new friend, great to meet you!
I'm open to all sorts of surfers, from those who want to make a new local friend, to be shown around to those who want to see the city their your own. I'm also happy to give tips or even give you a tour myself, if I have time.
Note, I usually go away for weekends (Friday and Saturday) so if you're looking to surf better to ask for a weeknight.

While scheduling can by dynamic, my motto of CS friendship is to go out for a meal or drinks at least once while you're here!
Also, I have an occasionally changing work schedule which sometimes has weird hours but if that works for you I'll do my best that you make the most of Tel Avi!

CURRENT MISSION

Finish all the sushi we made

ABOUT ME

I used to think that sleeping around wasn't that respectable until I found couchsurfing. Now when I travel I don't want to do hotels or hostels anymore. It's the concept of having a friend in a new city to take you to all the places you'd never discover that I find such an essential part of what this community does. As such, whether surfing or hosts, I do my best to remain open, adventurous and willing to try almost everything at least once.

PHILOSOPHY

Being a citizen of the world doesn't count for much unless you actually travel it.

Be the host you'd always want to have and the guest you'd want to invite back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host when I can, depending on work and other factors.
When surfing, I try to be a good and polite guest and really experience the people I meet and places I go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed 6 countries and hosted from even more.
Currently planning a trip to for fall 2016. Otherwise, I'm around and can often host.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC // My taste in music is said to be like a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack AKA the songs have no relation.
To emphasize the point, here are some artists / bands I enjoy:
Bond, Lady Gaga, Flight of the Conchords, Gogol Bordello, PSY (and Kpop in general), The Baseballs and others similar to those I mentioned.

MOVIES/ TV // I love the "They didn't just say that" feeling when watching Family Guy and the brilliantly worded provoking monologues of The West Wing and The Newsroom (even when it's preachy). Also, love a good South Park episode and am a big Sherlock fan.

BOOKS // Peter the Great (Robert K. Massie), Save the Cat, Guns, Germs and Steele, The Fountainhead, Chicken Soup for the Butt

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went through the entire "History of Rome" podcast. Amazing!
http://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/

Saw the sunset of Mt. Snow in Vermont. This sunset is especially unique and beautiful when seen at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon in winter, especially if you're lying on your back on the snow in the middle of the mountain with one ski below you and a ski pole above just out of reach.

Watched the Model UN team I trained get the most awards at an international competition!

Teach, Learn, Share

LEARN:
If there's anyone out there who can make learning to play the guitar and/or learning to speak Chinese / Russian / Spanish a little bit easier for me, I am happy for the tips!
Also happy to learn new recipes and cooking tips.

TEACH:
If you like cooking I can probably teach you a much better and faster way to cut more vegetables.
