About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Facilitate friendly, courteous travel and cultural exchanges between myself and others

ABOUT ME

Funny, sarcastic as hell, outgoing, old(ish) man, early riser, lover of fine food, beer and wine.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect, respect, respect. I'm 33 and have only recently caught the travel bug. I've discovered that travel is an excellent way to explore a culture. Cultural exchange is highly underrated, but something I'm more than willing to share to open minded, well-grounded people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My hut is available to those looking for a village experience in Senegal. I'm looking for a global perspective

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None thus far. Will you be my first when I go to Madrid this August?

Interests

Conservation agriculture, urban design, landscape architecture, photography, and cycling are some primary interests right now. I'm a Peace Corps volunteer currently, so most of my time is dedicated to supporting my community in a agricultural extension position. I work with a Women's Group, a Seed Extension program, and have a nice garden in my back yard.

Music, Movies, and Books

An eclectic choice in authors: P.G. Wodehouse, Tolstoy, H.S. Thompson, Chabon, ... I like perusing bookstores for the randomly good. I also read Landscape Architecture, The Atlantic, and a variety of news articles and blogs. Music is just as randomly joyous as I can't be held to one genre or style. Whatever sounds good is what I like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Stargazing with my host family
2) Mountain biking in Vermont

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lots of experience in landscape design and would be thrilled to teach or learn things about horticulture

Countries I’ve Visited
