À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To do the soulja boy dance in front of Charminar

ABOUT ME

I am originally from New York City but have been living in Hyderabad, India, for the past 9 months after graduating from Wesleyan University. I'm not too sure what I want to do next, but delaying real life and traveling for 9 month intervals seems like a pretty good deal as of now. I do see myself going back to graduate school for applied linguistics relatively soon, since I've always been interested in languages and teaching. I also dream of one day starting a language center-cum-ashram in Goa.

PHILOSOPHY

I try and put myself into other peoples' shoes. Even if you can never really get into someone else's head (or shoes) completely, it's important to always be mindful that there can be a million different perspectives on the same thing.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm about to come from living in India for the past 9 months, so I decided to join CS because I plan on stopping in a couple of places on my way back. I am super new to CS but I got the travel bug pretty early on in life, so I see myself having more experiences living abroad even after coming back home from India. I don't know yet where I'll be going or when, but I hope to meet some really chill people along the way through CS who hopefully will inspire me to do equally cool and chill things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Centres d'intérêt

History, traveling, eating, cooking, sewing, good debates over good food, meeting new people, discovering those really awesome whole in the wall restaurants that probably look way to shady to actually go in myself unless I am convinced by a friend, learning languages, working with children

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Empire of the Sun seems to be great music for almost any occasion, as Robin Hood: Men in Tights is a great movie for any occasion, and cool Runnings. I think Lupe and Kid Cudi would have an amazing musical baby, just saying.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My girlfriend and I did a 6 week road trip all over the US (East to West coast then down California coast then to Texas) which was absolutely incredible. Originally she was the one who was really into the idea, but it was one of the most eye-opening experiences that I think every person, no matter where you are from, should try and do. For someone who was born and raised in New York City to foreign-born parents, it was really great to see all the subtitles and complexities in the vast, open, and diverse space of the US.

While in India, I went to see the Taj Mahal. Hands down the most amazing structure I have ever seen. Even if you've seen countless pictures before hand, it is still like you're seeing it for the first time when it comes up in front of you as you enter the complex.
