About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Vagabonding! Long term travel to see, hear, and experience as much as I can around the world.

I write songs and can play you music if you have a guitar, fiddle, or mandolin.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Toronto, Canada and went to university in Halifax (also Canada). After school I played fiddle in a bluegrass band called "The Unseen Strangers". In 2013 I got the opportunity to move to Sri Lanka for a year and manage a hostel with my friend, who had leased it for a year. That led to me working as a guide and trip co-ordinator for his company "Escape Travels".

I've more or less been wandering since then!

PHILOSOPHY

"Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business" - Tom Robbins

I really like music, comedy and the outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several times back in Halifax, and have couch surfed quite a bit around Canada. Went on tour with a 5-piece band one time and we couchsurfed almost the whole way! I have also couch surfed in Ethiopia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Most recently had some amazing

I have a great place to host in Southern Cambodia. I'm only there for a few months a year, but it's open even when I'm away.

Interests

I've played violin and fiddle since I was a kid and still write some songs and play when I can, though it's hard when I travel. If there is a guitar or banjo (or fiddle!) at your house I'd love to play some

I also love food.... Eating out is great in different countries, but I also really enjoy a chance to cook. If there is the possibility of cooking something at your place I would be so grateful to use it.

I just completed my first bike tour (cycling with all my stuff and a tent). Absolutely fell in love with this mode of travel!
